Frequently Asked Questions

What geographical area do you service? Is there a limit?

Typically, the majority of our clients are located within a 175 mile radius, however there is no limitation on distance.

Why choose Riviere over the other options in the marketplace?

The service and follow ups we make throughout the year keep us connected with our clients. We do not make a transactional sale. We follow-up with each client to determine how their crop is doing, evaluate their satisfaction and address any questions that they may have.

What are the benefits of treated seed vs non treated seed?

A treated seed will prevent disease in cooler soils, provide quicker germination and will be a healthier plant throughout the year (better yield) .

Do you have a scale?

Yes, we are able to weigh and invoice you on the spot to simplify the process

Who certifies the seed that I purchase?

Saskatchewan Seed Growers Association (SSGA) & Canadian Seed Growers Association (CSGA).

How does Riviere Ag Seeds choose which varieties to grow?

We conduct research through trials in the area and throughout western Canada to find specific varieties that are best suited for our region. Once we have selected a variety, we grow it ourselves prior to offering it to our clients.

does Riviere Ag Seeds sell varieties that they don't grow?

We no longer sell varieties that we have not grown.  This allows us to help clients make more informed decisions when selecting a variety.
